Mother Brain - Female giant brain thing or male giant brain thing?

Female. It's easy. Why else would it be Mother Brain? /Mother/ Brain!

Female. It's always been that way :D

And a random point from me - the Purple Novas always remind me of Wuya (in ghost form) from Xiaolin Showdown (sp?).

Mother Brain

When I first saw Mother Brain I thought it was just a giant metroid. HAHAHA. I laugh at myself now, like I just did. However the question, which I'm about to mention, still remains. What exactly IS Mother Brain?

Some people say that it is an aurora unit from the, soon to be released, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. Other people say that it is a prototype for the above mentioned unit. However, it has also been said by people that the space pirates created Mother Brain as an organic computer for their research. Metroid E manga says that Mother Brain was used -if not made- by the Chozo to store their data.

That is not the only question surrounding Mother Brains mysterious past and present. Another is, is it the leader of the space pirates? This is even more hotly debated than the former question in some places. Personally, I think it is more likely to be Mother Brain then the only other real contender (Ridley). This is because on Metroid and Super Metroid who is the final boss... Got there yet? f you really lack the knowledge then I'll tell you, Mother Brain. Also, it is Mother Brain who has the authority to destroy all the creatures on Zebes (or just Tourian on the first game) not Ridley. Admittedly, at the end of Zero Mission, you do fight Mecha-Ridley. But I'm sure that if Mother Brain had not blown itself up, that would have been resurrected in Mecha-form instead/as well.

Soon I will ask to more questions... What gender is Mother Brain? AND How did he/she/it get involved with space pirates? And why? (O.K it was 3 so what) Let's hope ~D~ will post their views on these 2 questions first (HINT HINT) So signing off for now.

Random point

Have you noticed that on metroid zero mission, the sidehoppers look like metagross when frozen.

RANDOM POINT 2

He really did play Zero Mission when he finished that post.

Metroid, the world's best... err.. Metroid game...

As ~E~ said, Metroid was the defining Metroid game (obviously). It had everything - action, adventure, puzzles, those heartpounding moments where you're left with 4 seconds to get from one side of the game to the other. It was brilliant.

Now, not long back, they made a remake. Metroid: Zero Mission. Basically it was Metroid, with Fusion graphics and a little suitless chunk at the end, in the space pirate base. It had more responsive controls and other awesome stuff. It was a better game... or was it?

Now, if you're a fan of retro games, ZM maybe wasn't to your taste. The Space Pirate mothership went against the grain of the 'all-in action' style of Metroid, with pretty much all of it in Stealth Mode. Stripped down so you have no armor, and only a pretty useless gun that only stuns Space Pirates, you have to make your way through the ship, from the bottom right to the top left. At this point, after a long trek, you finally get your suit back :D

Not a fan of avoiding things? Makes you paranoid, p'raps? Then the second half of this probably isn't your cup of tea. /However/ the first half will probably fit you perfectly. Even if you are a retro guy through and through, I would get this game (and when you finish the game, you unlock the original Metroid game, so it's a win-win situation... /if/ you want to play the whole game... it really isn't that hard).

Apart from that, if you /really/ don't want ZM, but want Metroid on it's own - buy it from the Virtual Console. If you have a Wii. WHICH YOU SHOULD!

Go on. You know you want to. It rocks. Seriously. Actually, I'm going to go play it now. Cya!

Number 1 for ~E~ (METROID)

This may technically be my 2nd post but seeing as my last one was two lines long I'm deciding that this is my first.
Seeing as ~T~ was talking about metroid fusion I thought that I may as well talk about the first game in that particular series. Fake Kraid, Fake blocks, it had everything. I'm not just talking about fake stuff either when I say"everything".
It also had stuff that have became staples of the metroid series nowadays (screen filling bosses, an ending escape countdown and a few good oppurtunities to sequence break).
Just today I acquire the remake of it "METROID ZERO MISSION".

Hello world, and other assorted skullduggery...

Mmmm. I love the clean fresh taste of a new blog, ripe from the Blogger Tree, in the Garden of Yahoo, in Internetland... oops, went on a bit of a metaphor ramble there, I tend to do that :D

The garden of Yahoo... I don't like Yahoo... /anyway/ Me llamo Daniel, und ich bin good... oh wait, polylingual-much!

Uch, even more tangents... //anyway// this site is a place for Us (yup, it deserves that capital) to post stuff about games (generally) - upcoming games, games already out, old games, YASDs, funny/interesting experiences and all that kind of stuff. Hopefully it will last longer than my previous blog, which pretty much died of death.

Yup - so far it's me, and ~E~, but hopefully will extend to ~t~, ~o~, ~j~ and maybe others - /hopefully!/

Before we finish, I have to warn you that I am a punctuation maniac (see?) and I like to go off at tangents (or so I'm told - ooh a butterfly :D).

Well, this first (second actually, but first official) post is almost over, and just deserves two more words:

Hello World!

~d~

hello

The names Bob. I am going to give you lots of information 'bout stuff. Sorry for the short post...
